Transportation of Dangerous Goods
Course Code (TDG-01):
This course is designed in compliance with the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and Regulations. Section 6.1 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations states that a person who handles, offers for transport, or transports dangerous goods must be adequately trained and hold a training certificate. This training covers the transportation of dangerous goods by air, marine, rail or road.
Training Objectives:
TDG-01 will provide participants with the thorough knowledge and understanding of the legislative requirements, required documentation, Schedules 1-3, classifications, Shipping names, UN Numbers, safety marks (labels,placards), means of containment, emergency plans and reporting requirements.Participants will receive training on the safe handling and transport procedures, characteristics of dangerous goods, emergency response assistance plans (ERAP), fines/penalties for offences and the measures to be taken to eliminate the risk to public.

Participant Evaluations:
Participants will be evaluated over the course of the training through class participation/discussion and a final written evaluation. The written evaluation is completed at the end of the course, participants must receive 75% to be successful.
Record of Training:
1. Documented participation and verifying objectives
2. Registered Participant Training Card
3. Electronic copy of participant training records sent to the employer
4. Certification is valid for three years from date of issue
