Course Information:

This course will provide participants with the necessary skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adults, children and babies, including the latest CPR guidelines and training on the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).Participants must be able to comprehend and successfully demonstrate all required skills, including critical steps to achieve certification in this course.

Certificate: 3 year, Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR Level C/AED.

Class Format: This course is completed entirely in-class, lead by a qualified training instructor certified by the Canadian Red Cross.

Duration: 16 hours total

Course Description:

Comprehensive two-day (16 hrs) course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training for work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Course covers a variety of topics from basic (circulation and breathing emergencies, and prevention of disease transmission) to in-depth (sudden medical emergencies and injuries to the head and/or spine).

Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably as they will be required to perform CPR demonstrations at ground level.

Course Time Duration: 2 consecutive 8 hour days (16 hours total). (Consecutive days – if you selected the 3rd, you will attend the 3rd and 4th, therefore 2 days)

Day 1 : 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Day 2: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Participants must attend and participate 100% of the course to receive a certificate of completion. A closed-book written examination will be completed at the end of Day 2, participants must receive a minimum passing mark of 75%.

 

Certification Period:
Certifications are valid for three years from the date of issue.
