This course is designed to reinforce the key learning outcomes and keep workers up to date on any legislative, regulatory or equipment changes which may impact working at heights in construction. The WAH-02 Refresher training covers the practical module of the prerequisite program, Working at Heights (WAH-01).
The Occupational Health and Safety Act requires employers to ensure that workers on construction projects have successfully completed a CPO approved Working at Heights training program if they may use the specified methods of fall protection.
The Working at Heights Certification (WAH-01) is valid for three years from the date of issue.
Only participants who have successfully completed a CPO-approved Working at Heights training program (WAH-01) delivered by a CPO-approved training provider are eligible to take this refresher training.

This course is designed to reinforce the key learning outcomes and keep learners up to date on any legislative, regulatory or equipment changes which may impact working at heights in construction. WAH-02 refresher training covers the practical module of the working at heights training program, WAH-01.
Topics include:
Barriers, Safety Nets, Personal Fall Protection Equipment, Anchor Points, Work Positioning Systems, Work Access Platforms and Rescue Planning.
Participants will demonstrate their understanding through hands-on assessments and a written examination.


Working at Heights – Renewal (WAH-02) Information:
Course Time: 12:30 PM-4:30 PM (4 Hours)
Participants are asked to arrive at 12:15 PM for course registration.

Eligibility:
Only participants who have successfully completed a CPO-approved Working at Heights training program (WAH-01) delivered by a CPO-approved training provider are eligible to take this refresher training.
Upon arrival to the scheduled training course, registered participants must prove proof of their CPO (Ministry of Labour) Issued Working at Heights Certification card. Participants who have lost their CPO-issued proof of training card can contact the Ministry of Labour Health & Safety Contact Centre and request a replacement card (1-877-202-0008)

Certification:
Workers who wish to ensure that their CPO-approved Working at Heights Certification remains valid must successfully complete refresher training within three years of the date that they successfully completed an approved program.
Workers who do not complete refresher training within three years may take it at any time after this three-year period to renew its validity.
Workers who do not have valid C.P.O Working at Heights training will be unable to work at heights on construction projects in Ontario.

Evaluation Criteria:

Participants are required to attend 100% of their Working at Heights training course in order to receive their certification.
Evaluations include on-going practical assessments and one final theoretical examination at completion of the training course. Participants must achieve 100% on their practical assessments and 75% on their theoretical written exam to obtain their Working at Heights certification. Please notify Paramount Safety Consulting Inc. prior to course start if the participant has any learning or language barriers, we will be happy to accommodate to the participants needs.

Documentation:

Participants will receive a Record of Training, Participant Workbook and a digitized training certificate. Employers who register in the participants will also receive a Record of Training and copy of the workers training certificates. The Ministry of Labour will also issue successful candidates a M.O.L Working at Heights Training Card following course completion.
