JHSC Part 1 Course Length: 4 days Course Overview Paramount Safety Consulting Inc. provides the Joint Health and Safety Basic Certification Part 1 training in a classroom based training environment. This course is designed to provide basic training to health and safety representatives. It will ensure workplaces meet their legal due diligence to exceed the minimum standard prescribed by the Ministry of Labour for the first phase of Certification training. This program is required by all Ontario workplaces that employ 20 workers and above. Delivered over a four-day period, this program gives participants a full understanding of occupational health and safety legislation, including rights, duties and responsibilities of workplace parties and certified representatives on the joint health and safety committees. This basic certification program will include a full module about the Internal Responsibility System (IRS) and the purpose and requirements of workplace health and safety policies and programs. All participants will learn how to identify, assess and control, or eliminate, workplace hazards. Paramount Safety Consulting Inc. will keep electronic records of each participant that are available at a moment’s notice.
