Chainsaw Operator Training

This Chainsaw certification program is designed for employers and workers who operate chainsaws in their workplace. Ontario’s Construction Regulations require workers to be trained on the safe operation and maintenance of chainsaws.
Chainsaws are used by a wide range of workers in various occupations, they are a useful tool but if not properly maintained or trained on the safe usage a chainsaw can be very dangerous leading to serious injuries. This training will provide chainsaw operators with the skills and knowledge to safely maintain and operate a chainsaw.
This training will provide chainsaw operators with the skills and knowledge required to safety maintain and operate a chainsaw. The training covers a range of topics including: legislation, hazards, personal protective equipment, pre-operation inspections, chainsaw maintenance, kickback prevention and felling procedures.
The training consists of both theoretical (classroom) and practical (on-site) components. If the participant has not previously completed a Chainsaw Operator course then a site-specific Practical Evaluation must be completed on-site as per regulations. Each new operator must successfully complete the practical evaluation to obtain their certification, practical evaluations are completed on the participants job-site and must be booked through Paramount Safety Consulting Inc. Participants that have successfully completed a Chainsaw Operator course previously may partake in our Renewal course CHO-02.
Please note: Renewals are only applicable if the certification is no more than 6-months expired.
